Olaoluwa Abagun is a lawyer and a gender and international development expert. She is the Executive Director of ATHENA Network, a global feminist collective which works to advance gender equality and centre the voices of adolescent girls and young women in the global HIV response.
Ola has over 7 years of experience in grassroots and high-level gender equality advocacy, facilitating participatory processes with young people, and programme management on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) issues, girls’ education, and gender-based violence.
In 2014, she founded Girl Pride Circle Initiative, a girls’ rights advocacy NGO based in Nigeria. From 2019 – 2021, she served as the Coordinator of the Commonwealth Youth Gender Equality Network (CYGEN), supporting collaborative advocacy efforts among 200 youth advocates across all regions of the Commonwealth. She has also worked as a consultant with several INGOs and multilateral organisations, including UNICEF, UNGEI, Plan International, the International Youth Alliance for Family Planning (IYAFP) and Action Aid UK, where she designed and co-implemented youth engagement processes, feminist research projects, learning/capacity strengthening interventions and qualitative programme evaluation.
Ola holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Obafemi Awolowo University. In 2019, she bagged a Masters in Gender and Development (with distinction) from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex under the prestigious Commonwealth Shared Scholarship. Currently, she is a PhD researcher funded through the Government of Ireland’s Higher Education Authority at the South East Technological University (SETU) Waterford.
Ngwube Stella Ginikachukwu is the founder of the Student’s Safe Space, an online resource community for young undergraduate and graduate students. Stella graduated from the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike where she studied Microbiology (First class honors).
Being an ardent believer of community development, she went on to initiate and execute several community projects during her service year while as a serving youth corper. This opened up opportunities for her to work with Non governmental organizations like Haske water aid and empowerment foundation such that by the end of her service year, she was awarded the prestigious NYSC State honors award. With the goal to further her education, she applied and was awarded the prestigious NAWA scholarship in Poland where she is currently studying Biotechnology at the Warsaw University of Technology.

It’s going to be different from other courses you have attended because the facilitator would the speaking from her over ten years of experiences from accessing global opportunities and scholarships. So, the class is going to be very practical. Moreso, you will be learning from two other international scholars who have helped dozens of students to secure full scholarships to study in North America, Europe and Asia
